Make Apple Juice At Home

Instead of spending more money for fresh, healthy apple juice, learn how easy it is to make your own.

Make Apple Juice At Home

There are two different ways of making apple juice. One is boiling the apples and making juice out of it and other is to blend fresh apples using blender or juicer.

Method-1

Ingredients

  • 4 apples
  • 1/2 inch ginger
  • 1 cup water
  • A pinch of salt
  • Few mint leaves

Instruction

  • Wash the apples under running water
  • Remove skin and cut the apples, also remove core and seeds.
  • Add them to the blender with other ingredients and blend thoroughly.
  • Pass the juice through a strainer.
  • Serve fresh apple juice immediately.

Note: Serve this immediately before it gets oxidized.

Method-2

Ingredients

  • 4 apples
  • cinnamon (optional)
  • sugar(optional)

Instructions

  • Wash and then core the apple to remove seeds. Cut the apples into slices. Do not peel the apples.
  • Add the apples to a pot and add enough water to just cover them.
  • Slowly boil the apples for about 20 minutes or until the apples turn quite soft.
  • Place a coffee filter or piece of muslin cloth in your fine mesh strainer and place over a bowl.
  • Slowly pour the hot juice into a fine mesh strainer and gently mash the apples. Repeat this process until all of your juice is in the bowl.
  • Taste the juice after it is cooled. Add additional sugar or cinnamon depending on your preferences. Again, if the flavor is too strong, add water a little bit at a time to weaken the flavor.
  • Serve fresh.

Note:

  • Homemade apple juice doesn’t have any preservatives so be sure to keep it refrigerated and to use it within a week!
  • The apple mush you collected can easily be turned into applesauce by pureeing and adding a smidgen of sugar and cinnamon to taste.
