 These candied lemons are easy to make and they can also b used as garnishes for cakes. Candied lemons can also be enjoyed as a great treat.

With a little bit of cooking and patience, you can make these amazing candies. These can also be used as beautiful baked decorations. The method of making candied lemons applies to all citrus fruits, be it oranges or grapefruit or lime.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2-3 Lemons
  • 1 cup water 
  • 1 cup sugar

STEP BY STEP METHODS



  • Start with 2 lemons, cut them into slices using a sharp knife.
  • In a pan boil water and add lemon slices. Repeat it 2-3 times till the bitterness is gone. (This process is called blanching.)
                                            
  • In a large saucepan, add sugar and water and bring them to boil. Reduce to a simmer and add the lemon slices.
                                         
  • Simmer for about 20 minutes. Flip the slices in between. Cook until it turns translucent.
                                            
  • Transfer the lemon slices to a wire cooling rack or waxed paper and let them cool.
                                         

Uses for candied lemon.

  • Eat them like candies. Of course!!
  • Drop a slice in tea to give a little extra flavor and sweetener.
  • Use as a garnish for cakes and bakes.
